I'm never hungry in the a.m. or at lunch. Nor do I eat before bedtime/at night. But, that period between 2-6, I'm ravenous. And it doesn't matter if I eat lunch. I"m still hungry. And if I've had a workout, I"m even more hungry. It kills my calorie intake: a handful of snack here and there.
Any tips or advice as to how you handled or killed those late afternoon cravings? |
Can you eat dinner then, and then just have a small snack in the evening?
Otherwise, I have some sort of protein (shake, bar, chips) to hold me over. |
I keep an apple+nut butter or cut vegetables+hummus handy. Boring but reduces the risk of something unhealthy at the cafeteria or vending machine. |
Eat a healthy snack. I like a rollup of lunch meat (turkey or ham) and a piece of cheese. I also like dipping carrot sticks in guac or hummus. Both have actual nutritional value and can tide me over until dinner.
It's ok to eat when you're hungry. You're working out, so you need more calories than someone who doesn't. |
do intermittent fasting

16:05 - btw, I have a friend who started splitting her 3 meals up into 5 or 6 smaller meals, without doing much else differently. She lost 10-15 pounds and feels better. For her, it works. I've always done this, so it kind of cracked me up when she started trying to "convert me" to her way! |
Skip breakfast..eat meals at lunch and afternoon.. light dinner if you're hungry.. It's perfectly fine and perhaps even good for you to get your calories in a smaller window. |
