I am trying to stay below 100 grams of carbs a day. I believe that this plan is a more sustainable and balanced approach to eating. I am never going to give up carbs completely and I will not give up non starchy vegetables. I am looking for ideas and recipes from like minded people, low carbers, or Keto people. I want to have lots of ideas and options. For instance, cauliflower mash with cheese and a little cream is amazing. The kids even love it. They are my litmus test. If those carb loving kids like something, it passes the test. Please help me cook.

My family likes this:

Thanks so much! |
I'm intrigued, I'm not familiar with this book.
I'm with you, I don't think I can cut out a food group and be successful, I'd prefer to learn a moderate approach. I like the Skinnytaste blog (she does a great job with recipes) and we also enjoy Nom Nom Paleo. |
Lately I've been into zoodles (zucchini noodles) -- saute in olive oil with salt and pepper. Yum!
Riced or mashed cauliflower. There's a new brand of frozen vegetables at my Harris Teeter called Tommy's, and they make some interesting varieties--seasoned cauliflower and green beans, seasoned brussel sprouts. |
I just bought it; haven't started reading yet. What grabbed me was that she's basically a WW person who isn't totally on board with the WW approach at the moment. I assume she, like me, feels the plan is potentially too high in carbs and too low in fat for sustainable weight loss. (Yes, they say you can tweak it to any food plan, but 1 T of olive oil would be almost a quarter of my Smart Points for the day.)
I also like the other suggestions for general good health--nothing new, but one thing I loved about WW was their emphasis on health beyond your weight. Thanks for the suggestion, OP. |
OP here. I’m on Chapter 2. Love it so far. |
Summer rolls but without the noodles and use lettuce to wrap.

Thanks for the book recommendation. I'm reading it and liking, it's a lot more than a diet book. |
