| At Coppermine, Capital 28 Blue did rally and tie SW 28 Blue and tied Heros 28 Green, both games show 6-6 score. Yet, some say they appear to have less talent. Interesting. |
I've been a part of lacrosse since kindergarten. It is one thing to watch your kid not play in 5th grade. We are talking about high school club which is an additional level of commitment on top of homework, SATs etc. It's not even about the money but I just don't think parents or girls would invest the time and and make the sacrifices to not get equal exposure at games. I sure as hell wouldn't |
First showcase weekend. Capital talent depth isn't even close to Heros, Skywalkers or M&D. But Capital does have some good talent. The top MD teams Capital plays against aren't going to win every game or play well every game. Capital showed they can compete with them. Capital's 2028 strength is their ability to win draw controls. Constantly being on offense gives them a huge advantage. |
| All this negitive Capital talk because they lost one game to Coppermine ? Capital has good talent and recruting will show that. On the flip side , Coppermine has good talent as well. Recruiting will also show that. |
This suggests there's an equivalency, which there is not. Capital has way (way, way) more depth than what Coppermine is currently working with. I watched this game, and Capital just looked flat. Struggled in the clear and low energy on offense. It was a bad game. It happens. |
| How did Cap Orange look this weekend? |
No need to over-interpret the last game out of 6 for the first tournament weekend. Coppermine came out firing, won draws, and went up 4-0. Capital did look flat and had some unfortunate turnovers. Coppermine's goalies played very well, stopping at least 10 shots. Capital ground their way back into the game, held Coppermine scoreless for about 25 minutes, and tied it up, but gave two goals in the waning minutes. Not a great game. Lots of positives to take away from Saturday--tying #1 Hero's with grit and determination after starting 0-2, and playing a strong team game in every phase against Philly Blast for a multi-goal win, for example--along with some bright spots against Crush and Jesters on Sunday. Not surprised that the Capital haters want to pick out the one lowlight and harp on it, but this was a positive weekend for Cap. Worth noting that every single game, save Coppermine, was positive for their ranking. Sorry to disappoint you. |
| Don't think they started 0-2 against Hero's; not sure where you got that. But agree a good game for them. |
Only fall and we are at the moral victories instead of real victories stage. Absolutely beautiful. |
| Agree that Coppermine goalies were truly outstanding. Some of the best that I have seen in the 28 class. And, no, I am not either of the goalie's parent. |
They look to be on the rise. Went 4-1-1. Added some speed and talent for sure. |
| Happy to see the 2028 forum alive, though it could just be the Cap hater vs the Cap lover. In any event, welcome back. If anyone knows a good place to find a comprehensive list of recruiting showcase events and prospect camps I would appreciate sharing of that info. All weekend I heard parents talking about all the things their daughter is doing over the next several months while I stood by looking like the awkward monkey puppet meme guy. |
Sorry, you are on your own brosef. Not even your friends are going to be helpful here. It’s every man for himself. Godspeed. |

Have never found a great list. Lots of repetitive searching is required.
In general, you still have time for winter on campus events, but are running late on showcases. Recommend you go to target schools' womens lax pages and there will be a link for camps. There are camps offered each week in December and January, and even a few in February. Almost every school on my daughters' list has a camp scheduled; the challenge is which ones to prioritize and how many are feasible (cost, logistics, etc). There is legwork involved here, and a spreadsheet. Hope your daughter will help. Instagram is the other solid source. Try to take advice from parents who have been through it and suggest to include a range of schools. Showcase websites to check out: Lacrosse Masters; Nike XPO; Best in Class; APEX; The Line Up, etc. Some are fully booked, but others should have some availability. Summer showcases are still in process, although Best in Class and Juniors Open are probably locked. Inside Lacrosse has announced a July date for the ID Experience, and again, Lacrosse Masters, the Line Up, and others are still open. Same play for camps on college campuses, but most summer dates have not been released yet. Hope this helps. |
Your attitude is a meaningful part of why the process is so tough. At least some kind soul out there felt differently. |
