While responding to reporters on the way to AF1 today Trump assures to find a path to citizenship for DACA recipients. Is trump lying?
Trumpettes, what will you do if he actually does that? |
| In exchange for $25M for the wall that Mexico was supposed to pay for. |
| Ouch. Ryan must be soooooo mad right now. |
| He said this months ago and already reneged during these recent negotiations. His word isn’t worth spit, and holding him to his word is like wrestling an eel. |
So basically all trumpettes have to rely on trump’s consistency in lying on policy issues! |
| Trump doesn't remember what he said 5 minutes ago so this means exactly nothing. |
Depends on how limited it is and what the trade-off is. |

Trump all campaign: Mexico will pay for the wall
Trump in 2017: Mexico will reimburse us for the wall eventually Trump on Twitter a week ago: "The $20 billion wall is peanuts" Trump to reporters yesterday: I want $25 billion for the wall |

He never keeps a consistent stance on anything. It's like watching a ping-pong game. Get out the whiplash neck braces.
This is what happens when you elect someone with no real ideological core other than self-aggrandizement and accruing more wealth and power for himself. |

I'd be fine with it with two conditions: 1) money for the wall and additional border security, and 2) the illegal parents go home. Otherwise, the illegal parents will gain by the benefit bestowed on their citizen kids, like subsidized housing, food stamps, utility subsidies, etc. Considering that 20+% of these "exemplary" DACA adults are high school dropout losers! that would be likely to happen.
Also, any DACA adult who blocks traffic, blocks admission to Disneyland, or creates a public disturbance is subject to deportation. These people have got to learn some manners - and a sense of appreciation. They are guests in this country who never should have been here in the first place. Thanks, Obama. |
In favor of those measure, though without the "path to voting" mentioned by the president. |
PP here. Yes, I agree.....I really hate the voting, since I believe the reason Dems have fought for illegals is to create new Dem voters. But I don't see how we can have voting citizens and non-voting citizens. (It's bad enough these DACA kids have already pushed out their own little Dem voters as it is, along with claims to welfare programs.) My first choice would be permanent legal resident, with a work permit so they can pay income taxes and forget the citizen route. It is completely unfair to legal immigrants. |
$25B dude! Don't short-change yourself. It's like groundhog day with Trump. Except that he wakes up on different ground-hog days and repeats what he said a month ago, a year ago, a week ago, etc.. |
You cannot have dual residency status unless you create a new category or residency (like the middle eastern countries) where someone can be a resident for decades without any citizenship rights. However, any children born will automatically become citizens unless the constitution is amended (not happening). |
Agreed -- I feel like he's gone back and forth on this several times. Who the hell knows what he will do. |
