“30 minutes of exercise”?

I know they say to get 30 minutes of exercise, 3-5 days a week. I aim for 5 days a week. My question is, can it be split up and still count? Or do I need to do 30 minutes continuously? And is that only cardio?

Like today, I did the elliptical for 10 before 30 minutes of weights. Later, I’ll walk 10 minutes to/back front the bus stop. So 30 split minutes of cardio. Does this count?

yes, it absolutely counts. You are actually better off splitting it up like this than sitting for 12 hours and then doing 30 min.
