likelihood of a government shut down?

Any other government workers wondering? The deadline is looming . . .

I’m curious. I’m super pregnant and have an induction scheduled for the first day of the potential shutdown. It’d be nice to not have to run through my sick leave and get back pay. On the other hand, it'd obviously suck to not even have the option to use sick leave and then not get paid.

I’m still putting the chances of a shutdown pretty low. Like 10%

I'm so tired of these government shut down deadlines. I'm so over all of it. We get through one and then, bam, another one looming. Ugh.

Unlike private sector, Don't govies usually get back pay for the days govt is shut down?

Yes, it's not guaranteed but they always have. This president would be the president to deny it, though. We have enough stashed away that we could handle a shut down of couple of months, plus I'm private sector so I'd still be getting paid. But dual-income feds with an area-typical mortgage and not enough padding could really start hurting quickly.

Looking pretty likely at this point.

Then maybe they shouldn't live pay check to pay check.
Signed,
One-half of a dual-income fed

Note she said months. As the non fed in a couple, I'm not OK with my emergency fund going to political bullshit. That's not what that's for.

As a Fed— This x 1000

X 1,000,000. My savings as a dual fed should not have to float us for political bs

I think it’s 50/50 and hope we get paid

I think Trump is bluffing as usual and will just roll over.

No chance of a shutdown with Rs controlling everything.

I know, it never ends. It’s hard to get too invested in the what-if scenario each time.

If t-rump can blame Dems, 100%. However, after "s..thole" gaffe, no way in Hell will GOP let this happen!

I don't think the dems have it in then and I'm a den. One who works in immigration and is personally very very supportive of the daca kids.

It was stupid and irresponsible when republicans did it and it will be stupid and irresponsible if democrats so it. They have until June now too
