One month to change my body - what should I do?

Anonymous
I have one month to change my body. I am average weight but my midsection could use some toning! I spin, do some HIIT classs, walk, lift a bit, etc. I know diet (cut down on sugar, alcohol, eat “clean” etc) is what will make the most impact but what type of exercise will be the most effective? Hot yoga, Pilates, more weights? I just would love to have a new exercise routine to try consistently for the next month in hopes of a more marked improvement then just stepping up my usual rountine. Any ideas?

Eat less, 1200 calories per day if possible. All fresh food, home made and lots of salad

PP again, NO wine, NO sugar, NO carb!

Planks. They "suck in" your stomach and abs.

If you are really serious, you will really seriously reduce carbs.

Shot of apple cider vinegar mixed with a tiny bit of citrus juice before dinner; it curbs your appetite for that meal and the rest of the night.

No food after 7:30 p.m. Earlier if you can get away with it.

Cut out all alcohol if possible.

A class that combines some cardio and weights. I do a killer tabata class, some places have a boot camp class. I would do that 3x/week and yoga (ashtanga is my favorite) 2x.

+1 on the planks! Find a 30 day plank challenge online. Cut bad carbs out.

Is your goal to actually change your body, or look better in a dress/bathing suit in a month? If the latter, make sure to cut salt to reduce bloating and get good rest to reduce overall puffiness.

Reduce your carbs, alot.
Do mid section exercises. Your spin class works your leg alot. Your yoga are your stretching, your Pilates are your cores and arm muscles. You do more planks, leg lifts laying down, crunches. When you do them, focus on your cores, not your legs to keep you going.

Good advice given by all the PPs. Eat breakfast before 7 am, lunch before 1 pm, dinner before 6 pm. Drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water. Nix sugar, soda, junk food, fried food and wheat products. Eat probiotics - yogurt, kombucha. Reduce carbs, eat fresh salads with every meal. Eat nutritious foods that have complex carbs in it so that you feel full.

Not OP. When you say reduce carbs, what carbs? Fruit too? Brown rice? Quinoa? Oats? What carbs can I keep?

A good place to start is eliminating white flour, white sugar, and white rice. Personally, I think demonizing carbs is stupid, but cutting way back on highly processed carbs like white sugar and flour is a good idea.
