Travel agents

I always plan my own trips and often find awesome deals, but am overwhelmed trying to plan a multi-family trip to Alberta/Bannf/Jasper. I was thinking of looking for a travel agent for help, but haven't used one in decades! Anyone have any recommendations for a good travel agent? Thanks!

I use a great agency, but they're in the Midwest. They do really high-end trips with lots of amenities. Is that what you're looking for?

Connoisseur Travel which has a DC office, they are awesome.

Maybe I’ve just had bad luck, but I’ve found I knew more (or learned more through research) than any travel agent I’ve ever used. In the end I was always totally frustrated.

+1. I really want to use a TA to make my life easier but I can't justify it. Too ill informed and too expensive.

Travel agents don't cost any more than booking a hotel yourself. They get a cut of the room rate as a commission.

Former travel agent here ... work with them, if you've trying to prove you can outsmart them, why bother. Agents were originally corporate/or vacation agents. You want a vacation agent. And your best bet is a vacation agent who has been to the destination ... and recently, ideally well-traveled, ideally open to luxury and economy options. Ask. Learn about them.
