Current players and parents

It is not current players or parents, I can assure you. It's a couple of trolls that are beating a dead horse, because people keep answering, and the trolls are bitter people who take joy in the angst. And then we have the phenomenon of folks coming in and ask where the hate is coming from, and then the cycle repeats.

I recommend more adherence to the simple rule of message boards--don't feed the trolls. The problem here is that well-meaning folks want to answer the nonsense, in case people who don't know the actual story drop by, and their own sense of justice. I was sympathetic to that instinct during the Cap Blue tryout and selection period, but now there is no point in defending the 2028 team against the daily troll beat. Let the players do their thing on the field this season, let the 2027s recruiting results come in, and we can go from there.

Can you not go to the head of the club and make a complaint?

My main complaint would be that the current group of contributors on this forum do not offer the same level of entertainment or humor as the previous participants.

But Cap Blue obviously this isn't the 23 Blue program anymore. Watched it this year for the 27s. They have some really high level talent. But since they played in 3rd and 4th tier of brackets, the amount of coaches on the sidelines weren't what M&D and Hero's had. Not even close.
Different coaches, too.

This has some good schools going in the fall! Plus, I hear it’s a lot smaller so not huge so you can actually get some interaction with the coaches and maybe get noticed. We are adding this to our calendar.

Appreciate the info! Hard balancing these events with lax showcases the same weekend. Wish it was easier!

Anyone know when BIC invites go out?

It's rolling. Re-invites for 2025 attendees who had strong evaluations are largely out and accepted. My understanding is that a known advocate and good video are key for first-timers.

First of all, thank you 28 parents for coming back. You were a little quiet for a bit but I look forward to the next 12 months. I can’t wait!

I have three college lacrosse players and there’s only one thing in common. Not club, not how many goals, not how many coaches on the sidelines and not even stick skills. My fastest child (relative to their gender) went to the best lax school, second fastest - second best, third fastest - third best. All good ones but definitely tiered. If your kid beats everyone down the field, she will get noticed. Speed is the thing. If you have a pudgy, awesome goal scorer that’s at the end of the pack in sprints - she has a ceiling.

Good grief, it's the "speed is paramount-guy" coming to haunt the recruiting year. Sure it helps, but there are dozens of counter-examples of top players who are not super fast.

No need to use specific players to argue back team.
