Weight Watchers new "Freestyle"

How do you like it? I've been on WW since August. I'm kind of split. It's nice to have so many free foods but I'm not calculating my daily points as much any more.

Are you still losing without tracking?

I agree; I'm not tracking as much either. I can't really wrap my head around the new system. I'm continuing with it and I'm still losing weight without tracking as much, but I still preferred the old program.

I dont like it. I have yet to meet my 23 points guidelines. So I just quit tracking. I feel like most of the free point foods were already zero points so other than some lean proteins, this just basically took away 7 of my points. when I try to keep within 23 I am starving! I also work out a lot so that doesn't help.

As a mostly vegetarian, I love it. Eating lots of beans, eggs, yogurt, fruits, and veggies. I found it difficult before because vegetarian protein seemed to be a lot more points than animal protein.

+1. Not a vegetarian but I do enjoy beans and lentils and was always frustrated that smartpoints penalized them relative to animal protein.

I also like the rollover.

Freestyle seems like it might be liveable like the plans before smartpoints were. HATE smartpoints.

I like it, but find it only works when I cook at home. I am eating more meatless meals -- cheaper, healthier -- than I was on the last version.

I also think you need to use your weeklies on this program, not avoid them. That's a bit of a mental shift to make.

My 16 year old dd just started. So far she’s been tracking her food carefully and eating a lot of eggs. Do any of you have any blogs or websites you go to to for recipes? Thanks!

Pinterest is great for this, with many links to blogs and websites.

How do they come up with these changes

Last time I tried it I got frustrated because I’m a vegetarian and felt like I was eating so little food to stay within my points. Is it worth trying again? I have about 20 pounds to lose.

It is definitely more vegetarian friendly. Give it a shot

WW employs doctors and nutritionists. They test variations on program with real people before rolling out to public. Also this change is trying to respond to members who say they hate tracking every little thing.

People on this plan lost about 5% more than on the others.

Of course every time WW updates tons of people complain and say they hate it.
