Please tell me the teary dropoffs get easier.
We are on week two and the tears have gotten better, but still t night the I don’t wanna go to school, and the please come in with me and stay, hasn’t gotten less. He works himself up and the. Gets upset before we leave. I’ve tried sending a stuffed animal, pictures, and staying upbeat. What else can I do? I’m a mess! (And no, I don’t let him see me as a mess.) |
| it took us a couple weeks and then he loved it. on the plus side, when we transitioned to pre-K it was a breeze! Hang in there. |

How old? My DS switched daycare centers twice (once at 2, the second time at 4), and it took him a good amount of time to adjust to each. The second time (at 4) it was a good month before he adjusted to the new center. But after that month, he loved it and when I'd come to pick him up in the afternoon, he'd push me away and say, "go back to work, Mommy!"
It'll happen. But I know it's so hard until then! Hang in there. |
| Just turned 3! |
| It took a month to have reliably happy drop offs (and pickups - sometimes that's when my kid would feel his emotions). |
