Potential gov't shutdown - blaming the Dems

Not a Trump voter, but I will say if the democrats hold any budget or negotiations hostage over DACA, I will be livid. Sure we all want the DACA kids to do fine, but come on -- they've gotten plenty from this country for the last 2 decades (getting to live here; free public education) and while it was nice that Obama pushed for DACA, they and their families all knew that DACA need not become permanent or be continued under any other president. It's not like anyone promised them citizenship and now that's being taken away.

I realize there is a GOP majority so if they all get on the same page, a shutdown can be avoided; but I think it will be ludicrous if not one Dem will vote for any budget unless it gives them their preferred solution on DACA bc they are so beholden to the Hispanic vote . . . .

Trump is (usually, often, mostly) pro-DACA. He just lacks the guts to anything about it.

Republicans should have the votes to avert a shutdown without any Dems. If there's a shutdown then that's a total fail on their part.

They do have the votes. They just need to come to agreement. That's not the Dems fault.

Except for the 2.8 million civilians working for the government because I don't see them getting paid after the fact under this administration. I don't really care if the Trump appointees are hurt, but I'm fairly sure my mailman in NJ did nothing to deserve going without pay for weeks if this goes on that long.

I think Schumer and Pelosi did a dumb thing not turning up today ........ yes, the meeting with Trump was no more than a photo op but he and the Republicans will play it up as them being unwilling to even meet on urgent business.
