$400,000 salary plus a car allowance.

Surely that amount could purchase more competence

It's official - promises broken.

There's no coming back from this. Reid needs to go and they need to admit their county-wide boundary study has been a failure in both planning and execution.

If they can't figure out how to upload a map with relatively simple software, they sure as hell will never be able to operationalize county-wide changes in the fall of 2026. It will be an even bigger disaster.

Not happening, but one can wish.

Then every School Board member should be replaced and reminded of their own negligence if they seek other office.

Has the boundary review page always had this statement new the explore initial scenario tab?
“ You can explore and visualize how these initial scenarios may affect boundaries by using our Boundary Explorer Tool. This tool will be updated with the latest draft boundary scenario in mid-October.”

Mid October ?

I don’t remember reading mid-October. But for the maps not to be released I am nervous there must be extensive changes, and not just simply editing what has already been presented to us.

Well, first they’ll have to send an email canceling the Robinson and Centreville pyramid meeting because that’s supposed to happen on Monday.

Monday is a federal holiday.

All schools are closed

Schools are open on Monday , only students are off. I volunteered at a school yesterday and that is what one of the teachers told me.

What is beyond me is how there was no email regarding the delay. First, they say it’s coming out in the evening, giving a vague time frame which could mean 5pm or 10pm. And then to not send an update so people are not up late waiting. And seriously, in what workplace do you send out information long after the day ends anyhow? It should have been by COB like a normal workplace. And if it wasn’t coming some sort of email should have come so people were not wasting their time checking.

It's a Staff Development Day. We're not off (staff and teachers) and will be in our buildings working.

Just woke up. Figured there would be plenty of commentary on here about the maps. Incredibly surprised to see they haven’t been released nor has there been any communication from the superintendent or her staff. This is beyond unprofessional. They’re giving a middle finger to parents in this county.

+1. Your last sentence especially

Who could’ve guessed that bypassing the standard RFP process to rush a non-competitive selection of a fly-by-night consultant would’ve resulted in shoddy work and missed deadlines?

Every school board member’s public communication and the official FCPS communications said that the boundary tool would be updated last night. They seem to not understand that people care where their kids go to school. A bunch of F’ing idiots who don’t deserve to be in office.

And Thru is in way over its head.

There must be something really wrong with the maps and they didn’t want to release it with the errors?

What incredible hubris on the part of this School Board to brag about launching the first county-wide boundary review in 40 years, only for it to be completely mismanaged from the inception.
