"Sidney continues to be under direct threats of violence."
Using what definition of "violence"? |
Really don’t like that the child’s name is being publicly circulated. There had to have been a way to circulate the letter with his name redacted, even if it was easy to otherwise figure out his identity based on context. |
Perhaps Mom should have thought about this before she filed this BS. Public knowledge at this point. Feel bad for the kid but this is all Moms fault. |
What?! The mother said it on the news, at the public school board meeting that’s recorded, etc. She wants his name out there. |
Making it legal to publish it…. I get it. But it’s still in poor taste. The kid is still a kid, even if his mom is making what appear to be questionable choices regarding his privacy. |
She wanted this case to blow up. She wanted him a household name. That’s why she never respected his privacy. Poor kid. |
Well, he is. Just not in the way she wanted. Not the sharpest crayon in the box. |
For better or worse, when kids are minors, their parents have legal authority to make these decisions about them. The mother did on camera interviews with the child on the local news and has never attempted to protect or otherwise shield his identity. The whole thing is really shameful and the best thing for him would be for mom, Justin Fairfax and NAACP to let this quietly go away (which is what I suspect given the lack of any additional reporting since the demand letter was publicized and cause backlash). I really think they miscalculated how it would be received and made a lot of wrong assumptions and garnering sympathy from the public. |
I don't think her assumptions are crazy if she's looking to get her son a cash settlement and admission to college. Even if the case fails, which it won't since Arlington quivers in fear over allegations like these, it won't be published so they can just copy the demand letter into their college app and get accepted. School systems decided to play into these impossible social justice standards so this is going to happen pretty frequently. |
As someone who dealt with this lady for years, I’ll tell you she did not come up with some elaborate scheme like described above by herself. |
This seems like a terrible college admissions strategy. I don’t think anyone is quivering in fear over these allegations. |
It's a terrific college admissions strategy. This kid will go to Harvard. No doubt. They love this kind of thing there. |
I would think it would be the opposite, colleges would be afraid to admit someone so eager for settlements |
No way this kid’s getting accepted to any reputable school. No one wants this kind of drama. |
Agree. |
