This thread is about Holmes and Robach, not trying to impose or look for dog whistles: a coded message communicated through words or phrases commonly understood by a particular group of people, but not by others.

Well you’re wrong. Even if your thinking is accurate, what is wrong with how TJ wears his hair? Are black men not allowed to wear more than 1/8 inch of hair? Is bald your preference for black men’s hair? Are you really double-downing on this? AGAIN, nobody is imposing or looking for coded messages, we are telling you what’s wrong with the language. Just stop double-downing on this already. Unless you’re really saying only a hair style like Obama and Michael Jordan will be considered clean-cut in your eyes.

This is the exact reason why we need laws like the Crown Act. Y’all people really don’t get it, do you?

Would you ever in your life consider this haircut on white man as being not clean-cut? What about TJ’s hair makes him non clean-cut. Pray, tell.

You are exhausting, like when you try to reach Comcast then get all this talk so that you eventually say never mind, and hang up.

Nobody is blowing a “dog whistle’, clean cut was not said to be racist. This thread is about the mess at gma3, you have a problem that you keep inferring what people meant, to teach us a lesson about racial stereotyping. We didn’t sign up for your class.
Never mind

One person said this, and it wasn’t racist. What a sad pathetic person you are.

DP. Nobody is inferring what someone means when they say TJ Holmes is not clean cut. It’s simply not true, there is nothing about him that can be considered not being clean cut. Period.

They probably just meant his hair is a little long. He is obviously well groomed and has incredible taste in suits.

Thank you, PPs.

There is literally nothing unkempt about TJ Holmes.

Lord.

I don't recall anyone saying TJ Holmes wasn't clean-cut. He is. So is his replacement. The term means put together well in a more conservative business type attire. Same goes for Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Gavin Newsom, etc. It's a "look," as opposed to Ben Affleck, Lil Wayne, Mick Jagger, and those who look more purposefully casual.

Here is the quote.

“ The new anchor doesn’t have a pompous attitude like TJ has.
He comes off as a lot more wholesome, personable and friendly than TJ was.
I think he is much more attractive and clean cut.”

NP. Can someone explain to me how the comment was racist if the same person was praising the black man who is replacing TJ?

His hair is an inch long, maybe 1.5. The point is nobody would call a white man not clean-cut if he had same length of hair. His hair is not any longer than George on GMA.

Take the compliment to Demarco out. Calling TJ not clean-cut when there is not one feature about him that can be considered not clean cut is the problem. If the commenter meant because he has hair (Demarco has no hair) then it means a black man with hair is considered not clean cut. This really isn’t that hard people. TJ’s hair length on a white man would never be considered a length to be described as not being clean cut.

It basically means the only acceptable hair do for white women for black men would be a very low cut/fade like Obama or bald like Demarco or Michael Jordan. The very clear message here is that black many with any length of hair longer than Obama’s length is considered to be not clean cut regardless of whether they’re absent facial hair or rocking a tailored Armani suit. The same standard of beauty/expectation is not applied to white make counterparts. Nobody would ever refer to to George stephanopoulos as not being clean cut and his hair is longer than TJ’s.

^^^That.

[PP - 1st poster to mention “dog whistle”]

I would ignore the PP who keeps derailing the thread to argue about a comment thar was not racist. They already stated they don't care about the topic, which is the affair. So, they choose to derail the thread and pretend people are attacking TJ by complimenting his replacement.

On topic, I thought they broke up, but they were recently spotted arm and arm and all smiles. They should bring back The Chew.
