Boundary Review Meetings

They will be lucky if they can manage boundary changes relating to those two developments effectively, but they have certainly shown they are not up to the task of managing a county-wide review. It's been a complete and utter shit show and it's time to admit it publicly and engage in some damage control.

Any School Board member who rises to the occasion, whether it's Melanie Meren, Ricardy Anderson, Mateo Dunne, or Ryan McElveen (none of the rest are even possibly up to the task), admits the emperor has no clothes, and finally calls for some common sense will surely receive accolades.

Write to all the SB members you mentionrd

Yup, writing to SB and Reid tonight to highlight broken promises. Won't help but have to do something....

The School Board should convene an emergency session and fire Reid before classes resume on Tuesday. Enough is enough.

There are a handful of UMC/wealthy and largely White high schools that have been renovated or expanded that are separating themselves from the rest of FCPS in attracting more kids now: Langley, Madison, Robinson, and West Springfield.

People sense that FCPS has played favorites and they gravitate towards those schools. And then the families there fight like hell against moving anywhere else.

WSHS is majority minority and has one of the largest percentage of high achieving African American students in all of FCPS.

I think WSHS is second to South County for this demographic.

Robinson might be the only school on that list that is majority white, only by a little bit.

Slinging racial demographics in a district where all but one high school is majority minority is a bad look.

I’m guessing between 5-6. Then they’ll all skip town for the long weekend until Tuesday morning.

I didn’t even put together they are off Monday.

Someone form fairfacts matters said that BRAC hadn’t even received scenario 4 yet

The first community meeting is Monday night. And they still haven't released the maps. This is so unprofessional.

This Monday night? October 13th?

Well, first they’ll have to send an email canceling the Robinson and Centreville pyramid meeting because that’s supposed to happen on Monday.

Monday is a federal holiday.

All schools are closed

At the WSHS LBSS meeting this week, FCPS basically told us to take our complaints to our BRAC volunteers.

FCPS has treated the BRAC community volunteers horribly.

Will FCPS superintendent and school board even show up to unlock the building?

Who knows. At this point, would we really be surprised if they failed to check their own calendar before scheduling the meeting?

Our School Board member sent out an email this afternoon saying the new map would be available this evening.

Are we supposed to wait until 11:59 pm? These people are so disrespectful!

No way is anyone at Gatehouse or Thru busy working at 11 pm Friday of a holiday weekend.

I doubt anyone was there at 5:01 pm, which is why we should have received an email postponing the new maps hours ago.

How insulting to the parents, studdnts and BRAC volunteers

We have a bunch of amateurs running this school district. If this was a business everyone involved with this screwup would get fired.
