Well the NYT had been pretty aggressively anti-Mamdani up until a few weeks ago, putting aside their no-endorsement policy to endorse Cuomo over him in the primary and flogging all that nonsense about his Columbia application. So if they're sucking up to him now then presumably it means that a) they think he's going to win and b) they don't think he's going to be such a disaster that they would be better off continuing to antagonize him. |

Voting for Mamdani and very excited to do it. Have followed him since 2024 when he was at 6% (!) and loved his platform, ideas, and moral clarity. Never thought he'd make it past the primary and am so proud of the NYC'ers that voted for him.
Media coverage has been incredibly biased with racist undertones, as have been local moms FB groups. Some of the posts and comments are unhinged. Leaving foreign policy aside, it's funny how much harm the media does in not explaining the difference between a democrat socialist (Mamdani) vs. a communist. But am sure that's their intention. |
Not PP: I'm going to have to disagree with you on this. I'm not a huge fan of Bloomberg. However, as the years have progressed, I have a better understanding of why he did what he did because 1. so much of NYC governance happens in Albany and 2. the intransigence of the large city government bureaucracies. So yes People who immediately hate on Bloomberg just show how little understanding of the real world they have. |
Yep, you'll get the free stuff you want in the short term as the city turns into San Francisco in no time. Great. |
No one immediately hated on Bloomberg. But again, wanting to create an environment where all socioeconomic classes can live does not denote not understanding the ‘real world’. I’ve found that people who say reference that trope are often clueless themselves, other than instinctively wanting to protect what they have over the needs of their community, even as they themselves often benefited from similar supports. Ex, many of us parents went to- and benefited from - gen Ed public schools, whether in NY or elsewhere. But you’ll see a lot of these same parents screaming about Mamdani saying he’d restrict gifted and talented testing at the pre K and level. |
Do you realize that the crime rate has been dropping in SF and that both NYC and SF have murder rates that are significantly lower than Rep led cities/states like Gulfport Mississippi ? |
Examples? |
Lawyer in NYC. My entire family is voting for him! |
Of course...it's those uppity G&T parents! If we just got rid of G&T, we'd be living in utopia! Project much? |
No idea what you mean but it was one example of an issue. People who benefited from policies themselves, often not even really remembering it, who now call those policies insane and unfair. Many of us benefited from being raised during a time when our parents- (workers) had more protections- unions, pensions etc. Yet many of these same people blindly accept the dismantling of these protections. |
It was the example that you went to first. If it was one example, you could have used another but you didn't. You're making a lot of assumptions about people you don't know which basically amounts to ad hominem attacks. |
Not sure you know what ad hominem means but I’ll leave it at that. You just want to fight and are likely a troll. Or low intellect |
Speak for yourself, projector. |
