GE Monogram or Wolf/Subzero?

We are in the process of remodeling our kitchen. Further out, large home, around $1.25 m value. We intend to live here for 7-8 years and then sell, so it's mostly for us but keeping in mind future resale.

We are putting in a 48 inch range, high end hood, 48 inch counter depth refrigerator and dishwasher. Buying the GE Monogram set is $22k. Choosing the subzero/Wolf items with same specs is $6700 more, or almost $29K. Do you think the extra money is worth it for name recognition and the brand? That range is a big focal point of the kitchen and the appliances are the most branded thing you see. Part of me thinks buyers will generally assume it's very high end with the Wolf - at least I would notice that whereas I wouldn't look at the cabinet brand. But, it's a heck of a lot of money!

Thoughts on whether it would matter to you or, if you have these appliances, do you like or dislike them?

Depends on the house and buyer profile - close-in buyers will appreciate the highest quality for each appliance. However if you're far out in a McMansion and don't know the answer to this already, go Subzero because that's what people think is what they need to impress the Joneses.

wolf/SZ will definitely impress more than GE mono

I am generally pretty-anti-brand but admit I subjectively value a wolf a fair bit more than a monogram, mostly for branding reasons.

(I don't value subzero more than other built in refrigerators.)

If you're not selling for 8 years, I wouldn't even think about what other buyers might like. Trends and technology change all the time. And they can upgrade if they want.

I wouldn't buy all one brand. Get a Bosch dishwasher, Wolf stove, and research refrigerators to see what is best for that.

I think with a further out home at your price point, the monogram will be just fine. With closer in custom built homes at 1.5 or above, I think it's more conspicuous when the appliances are not wolf or subzero

Also I would get a Bosch dishwasher, and skip wolf or monogram for that

Ge appliances are the worst. Very poor reliability. Go with wolf/sub zero

Do not buy a GE. My parents have had so much trouble with their Profile. Way too much money for a piece of crap. This should help convince you:

I have a Wolf cooktop and Subzero fridge, which I love. We have GE/advantium ovens, which I hate. I've had convection ovens before, so I know how they're supposed to work, and the GE is worthless.

I have had both. Both work great.

Last house had Monogram and it was totally fine. I think at $1.25M price point it is completely fine. Only staying 7-8 years makes even more sense.

We did wolf/SZ this time because we are staying for a long period and are at a higher price point and felt like if we decide to sell, we will get the value back.
