No. No they are not. Because that would be communication. |
|
If anyone needed further confirmation that FCPS simply does not respect families, they got it tonight.
|
$5 says they’ll tell us we’re too impatient and we need to show grace. |
| I even received an email from Sandy Anderson herself saying the maps were coming out today. What a hot mess. |
Yep. If theyre not going to update it, they won't give any communication at all and then will say they had a tech glitch that was responsible for the map not going live and they didnt even realize it until well after it was supposed to go out. |
| This is our kids and we care this is ridiculous |
this is 100% true. but also why they should have made sure it went out before people left for 3 days. i bet you they weren’t ready with the maps so will just pretend it was a technical difficulty. |
| It seems unfair to have the first meeting on this on Monday night. Parents should at least have one business day to review the maps. They should delay that meeting. |
| Just remember the next time that Michelle Reid is blathering on about how FCPS will be teaching kids "22nd Century skills" they can't even handle late 20th Century mapping technology. |
Or time management, communication, problem solving….. |
It absolutely is unfair. And if they reschedule, they likely make it difficult or impossible for some parents who would have attended and wanted to attend to participate. |
|
This is absolutely appalling - shame on them for botching this process from start all the way to the finish. It’s very clear they don’t want what’s best for the students and parents.
If you aren’t going to update the boundary tool, at least have the common decency to tell us. Many of us have been waiting weeks for this. |
|
It's time for them to show some humility, admit they aren't up to dealing with all the challenges of a county-wide boundary review, and scale this review back to dealing solely with Coates overcrowding and the KAA purchase.
They will be lucky if they can manage boundary changes relating to those two developments effectively, but they have certainly shown they are not up to the task of managing a county-wide review. It's been a complete and utter shit show and it's time to admit it publicly and engage in some damage control. Any School Board member who rises to the occasion, whether it's Melanie Meren, Ricardy Anderson, Mateo Dunne, or Ryan McElveen (none of the rest are even possibly up to the task), admits the emperor has no clothes, and finally calls for some common sense will surely receive accolades. |
| Agree it's appalling and disrespectful to the public they claim to represent. You said you'd provide an update, then didn't plus didn't say why. SB members should be raising hell |
SB is responsible for the mess |
