I am so confused.

The FBI isn’t the same as local law enforcement.

Yes, they went to college so the GOP hates them.

They’re fundraising off of it.

Why is he in NYC again?

Florida in August isn’t optimal. Bedminster seems preferable.

Such a title would never fly on DCUM if something similar were written about Biden. It would be deleted in a hot second.

Just gotta say, I think it's hilarious that Trump can get away with tax fraud, sedition and insurrection, and all sorts of crimes. But taking government documents? The bureaucracy is more powerful than any LEO.

For four years, the White House just did whatever they wanted, didn't bother with rules or norms, with following rules, basically seat-of-the-pantsed the entire administration. But at the end of the day, they were still public servants. And government documents are not to be trifled with.

DP. I don't love it. But Jeff's reasoning isn't wrong.

It will have not recorded or be lost.

He was in NYC for a court-ordered deposition, so yes, Florida would not be optimal today.

I await news about how this is the fault of Democrats and also how this is good news for the GOP this fall.

Just saying it again because it’s awesome: Donald Trump’s dumpy hotel home was searched in a lawful warrant by the FBI.

Well if Bananaguard said it

+1 If it's ok for Trump to call people names, then it's ok for people to call Trump names. Fair is fair. Only a hypocrite could disagree.

A search warrant is an order issued by a federal magistrate judge based on a showing of probable cause that evidence of a specified crime is likely to be found. The USSS had no discretion once the warrant was verified.

Jeff’s reasoning is because Trump did it, it’s fine. That’s terrible reasoning for the people who crowed about Trump’s bad precedents. Now you’re taking these so-called bad precedents and making them kosher. Kind of hilarious actually. I guess it wasn’t THAT bad after all!

Because laws might apply to a Republican for once?

Power corrupts. Democrats and Republicans alike. There's plenty of corruption and slime on both sides. If we want to maintain our Republic in its current form, both sides have to learn to live with each other. The whole has to be more than the sum of the parts.

Lincoln's famous quote was paraphrased from the Bible: "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand." It's not about a winner and a loser at this point. We either learn to live with each other culturally, socially, and politically or the country fails and much misery for everybody is likely to ensue. A tale as old as time.

Obvs the GOP read Lincoln's quote and are using it as a game plan. Stop both sides-ing it. False equivalency.
