Kensington Forest Glen Center at Dameron Drive - Reviews?

Does anyone have information about this centeR? We're on the waitlist but having a tough time getting information from them about our position. Also, they refused to give me a tour of the place (granted, I did ask with short notice) until we're closer to the top on the list - but dunno when that will be b/c the person who was supposed to call all of the wait list families by the end of May never did. Mostly I'm annoyed with them on the logistics, but I'm wondering if otherwise it's a good center. It was recommended by several people to me but maybe on an anonymous forum people will be more honest about it? What is the facility like? I think I took a BF'ing class there before DD was born, but the building was clearly in transition at that time. Thanks.

I don't know the center at all but the idea that they can't have you tour the place right away, and more importantly that the person who was supposed to call 3 months ago never did would be a crimson red flag to me. With little ones, logistics is half of the equation!

Our son (now 9yo) went there for three years and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was terrific and the early childhood curriculum and approach were completely age-appropriate. He loved it, and so did we.

I believe it is NAEYC-accredited. There are not many places in close-in Montgomery County which are.

Like you, we could not tour the place until we were close to the top of the waitlist (we sat on that waitlist for more than two years), but this is a matter of resources - they are a not-for-profit and will only allocate time and resources to tasks that make sense. I'm not surprised about the lack of callback (they are always very busy), but if I were you, I would be persistent because it is worth the effort.

I felt very fortunate to have my child there and recommend it without reservation.
