It is on par with some of the other schools mentioned. Many very successful families choose these schools for a variety of reasons. And top kids at these schools do just as well as kids at TT schools. And often have a happier four years of HS doing so.

Not that I primarily focus on HS.

The top 10% of Trevor is not doing just as well as HM or Dalton.

are the trevor kids less intelligent, driven, motivated? or is it the teaching? or is it all about the parents $$, hooks etc?

Most the intelligence and drive. There is more money at HM and the like but there’s enough at Trevor. The Trevor students just aren’t up to snuff even with large gifts to universities.

Wondering this as well. What happens if an intelligent, driven, motivated kid attends Trevor? Do they not end up in the same place as if they went to HM?

They’ll have a marginally worse outcome. Iron sharpens iron. Being around unintelligent peers weighs down your growth.

what specifically can you shares about Trevor that causes your concerns?

If you have 70k to frivolously burn annually, then literally burn it for heating and entertainment and send your kid to public school before enrolling at Trevor. It approaches scam territory.

Please don't encourage them. Somehow Trevor made them angry so they have this horrible hatred towards the school. Trevor has its pros and cons. They go overboard on the cons. Top kids there do very well. Overall outcomes don't compare to TT, but a top kid has a very good chance at an Ivy. And will have four less stressful years of HS. One can better argue about the benefits of the lower school program but it is still not as bad as this person makes it out to be.

The top kids don't do that well. A top 10% student at a TT is going to an Ivy or Ivy equivalent. You cannot say that about Trevor, not even close. Regarding stress, it depends. TT students are smarter so they rise to the occasion of more difficult work. Trevor students are dumber, and can struggle to master watered down curricula.

It looks like there are plenty of kids from Trevor going to Ivys and other good schools.

Define "plenty." A handful do. Its matriculation is worse than a good suburban public like Scarsdale, which is free, and certainly worse than the better public high schools in the city like BS or Stuy. The ROI of Trevor's 1mm price tag is........bad

Imagine a grown adult calling teenagers dumb. What the heck is wrong with you?

I did not say dumb, I said dumber. 17 year olds can handle it. Or would you argue that TT students are actually less intelligent than Trevor students on the whole, for reasons?

I'm fairly sure even the most average Trevor 1st grader is smarter than you.

If you're worried about ROI for a private school, maybe you should just be smarter and make more money.

That's a very select list. There are like 400 students in Scarsdale's graduating class.

BxS, Stuy and BT have huge classes and the kids go to a variety of schools. A lot of kids go to CUNYs and SUNYs.

i was mistaken that you would provide me with some specifics about trevor versus just a useless post.

if you could, i would love to know specifics about Trevor - and also what relationship you have to the school (former student, parent, rejected candidate)

Trust me. They can't. And note that I am not president of Trevor's fan club. It isn't perfect. One can constructively say negative things about it. But this clown's visceral hatred of it just destroys all reasonable discussion. It is not OK to feel that kind of childish hatred towards anything (other than maybe Donald Trump and anchovies).

I'm out. Not sure why I am wasting my time.

Sorry but their matriculation is not as strong as TDS https://scarsdale10583.com/section-table/278-events/11599-class-of-2025-off-to-college-where-they-are-headed

That's a very select list. There are like 400 students in Scarsdale's graduating class.

What is telling is you won't even post a link to Trevor's list because it is so embarassing. Scarsdale's speaks for itself.

Trevors list is available. It's on IG. you can analyze it if you have the ability.

Please don't encourage them. Somehow Trevor made them angry so they have this horrible hatred towards the school. Trevor has its pros and cons. They go overboard on the cons. Top kids there do very well. Overall outcomes don't compare to TT, but a top kid has a very good chance at an Ivy. And will have four less stressful years of HS. One can better argue about the benefits of the lower school program but it is still not as bad as this person makes it out to be.

i'd like to hear their points on Trevor. Hopefully they can make a solid argument for why they don't like it.

Trust me.

I'm out. Not sure why I am wasting my time.

what is the reason for their hatred of Trevor?

At least with the B parent we know the main reasons they do not like B. we might disagree on whether or not it's systemic there - but at least we have some context and some actual facts about the school.

saying Trevor sucks and ROI isn't good is pretty detailed enough.
