Half of British women reach age 30 without having a child

Plenty of childless women didn't want children. And for those who did, sure, it's disappointing and sad, but life goes on. I wanted kids but didn't have them. I was sad about it, I grieved, but no, it's not devastating.

I turned 30 without kids but went on to have four in my 30s. All of my friends had their kids in their 30s as well and this was 20+ years ago.

If a sizable number of women were turning 40 without any kids, that might be a more significant statistic.

Bull shite. What sexist crap. Women can do many things that are far more important you rwnj pig.

Nobody will remember your emails, spreadsheets and PowerPoints — or some over-involved generous childless aunt. Future generations remember moms, dads, grandma and grandpas. Just being honest.

You're jealous of your sister's life. It all make's since now.

No. It’s a subconscious and instinctive thing for childless people to try and get over-involved and meddle in the affairs of those with kids because one, they yearn for their own and two, they’re trying to desperately prove their value to (the future of) the community. If you’re not helping perpetuate the species what value do you add?

You hate your life as a mom and wish you had chosen your sisters path.

Project a little more, lonely girl boss.

Says the person who was projecting in the first place.

But it must also make these childless British women sad to not be mums.

It would be sad, but what would be even sadder is being married to a loser, and the mom having to do everything herself. Why bother getting married? There's always a sperm bank.

Personally, I would never do that because being a parent is super hard. But, if a woman really wants to be a mom that badly, there's always the sperm bank route.

How many of your friends needed IVF, how many had complicated pregnancies, and how many of the kids have health issues to this day?

DP but people always say this stuff but I anecdotally don't see it. I myself got knocked up after some champagne at 41 and had twins, no issues with pregnancies and kids are smart and perfect. I have many friends in the same or similar boat.

Except Israel

Jewish people are way more forward thinking and optimistic about the future.

I don’t think Israel is considered “developed.”

Israel is certainly considered developed. It is a “high income country” according to World Bank categorization.

Mother also isn’t a job, it’s a relationship.

This is silly. I remember my grandparents, but I also remember my aunts and uncles, both with children and without.

Mother is a relationship title, not a job title.

Mother is indeed a biological relationship title, mom is the job title with projects and responsibilities.

“Mother” is both a prejudicial and offensive term. Please refrain from using it.

The correct term is: birth-parent.

This is so dumb. Some people say mother, some people say mom, some say mama. In any case, it’s not a job. It’s work, but it’s not a job.
