Hate Site In Fairfax

The site resistancemedia (dot org) has been posting hate material and right-wing conspiracies for the past few months at least - they even have been repeatedly re-tweeted by a certain Fairfax school board member. This website has...

attacked right wing nut job Jo Thoburn for not being crazy enough.

called Trayvon Martin a "pot smoking gang banger."

retweeted and is following numerous alt right (Neo Nazi) figures on twitter such as bigot Ann Coulter and white supremacist website Vdare.

personally attacked several FCPS schools for having newspaper articles that don't correlate with right wing orthodoxy.

called attempts to stop bullying in schools "Orwellian."

repeatedly attacked Ryan McElveen, a true leader and advocate for LGBTQAAI youth

generally spread vitriol directed at the LGBTQAAI community, minorities and Muslims.

Unfortunately, this website is completely anonymous and the person/people behind this hate cannot be publicly called out.

AS A TEACHER, I am appalled that these people are actually getting support from the FCPS community - they apparently have several sources WITHIN local schools.

CALL FCPS NOW and tell them to block resistance media (dot) org on all FCPS computers to protect our students from the triggering impact of such deplorable, disgusting views.

They haven't been listening to me. Maybe they will listen to us - WE ARE THE REAL RESISTANCE, not these BIGOTS.

What do you mean, that site is anonymous? The owner is some fat dude named Daniel Smith who used to write a half-assed chess blog and lived in Springfield and maybe now lives in Centreville, or at least has a mailing address there.

Just FYI, the OP doesn't want the site to be shut down, but simply blocked by FCPS. For what it is worth, this website is blocked by DCPS. I've known about that for a couple years and never complained about it. It is the schools system's right to block us and it certainly hasn't hurt us in any measurable way.

I absolutely don't want to give these bigots any publicity, but the site has actually been linked to by Fox "news" and a whole host of other conservative extremist sites. They already have way more publicity than we could ever give them. And I'm starting to think that Daniel Smith is a pseudonym...
