Where To Go For A Long Weekend Getaway In August

My provider is taking a week vacation in August so my hubby and I decided to take vacation as well. Since he has finals during the week we can only do a long weekend (Thurs-Sun). We were thinking somewhere in Florida, maybe the Keys. We were thinking Key West but the flights are so $$$$ and we don't want to do the drive from Ft. Lauderdale. He suggested Key Largo. Any thoughts?

| Sanibel or Captiva Islands (beautiful and relaxing); airfares to Ft. Myers are pretty cheap right now. Or, if you want to drive, try the Homestead. |
