I would be worried I'd be stuck with a long layover.
And total travel time would be long.
Could there be multiple layovers?

No way. So easy to have a 6 am flight that doesn't arrive until midnight, and/or forces you to leave the terminal and go through security again/recheck your bags if you have any. No thanks. (And I'm usually super frugal)

OP here. It says 0-1 stops and arrives same day. Just trying to fly to ATL last minute. They just dropped the price to $215.

I went ahead and did it and got non-stop flights to and from ATL from DCA for $215, and not at weird hours at all. Leaving 8:30PM from DCA, arriving 10PM something, leaving 1:15PM ATL, arriving DCA 3PM something. Worked perfect for my needs.

Good li worked OP. I know people who have done it and have had nightmare connections to "save" money

The quote said in advance it would be 0-1 connections and would get there same day. Plus, there are tons of direct flights to atlanta.

I think to somewhere like ATL or other close by hub you would be fine. I'd never do this to, say Deluth or Berlin or something.
