Estimate of College Price

I am using various calculators to predict the cost of college for DC 10 and DC 7. I am assuming 5% growth in their 529 account. What is a good guess for the estimated growth in projected cost? Are you using a different % for private vs. public?

I don't look at it that detailed. I've done the prepaid for our kids, so we've put aside around 70k for each child. We'll help when the time comes with room and board. If they want to be dumb, go out of state and rack up an insane amount of debt I'll give them what I've allocated and then walk away wondering how i managed to raise such fools.

"According to The College Board®, the average 2014-2015 tuition increase was 3.7 percent at private colleges, and 2.9 percent at public universities. However, looking back at the last decade, the 10-year historical rate of increase is approximately 5 percent." http://www.savingforcollege.com/tutorial101/the_real_cost_of_higher_education.php
