Dr. Darin Thompson Remains Principal of Hayfield Secondary School

Please disregard the erroneous reports that have been circulating throughout the Hayfield community. As confirmed by FCPS Human Resources and a matter of public record, Dr. Darin Thompson remains the principal of Hayfield Secondary School.

Remains is doing a lot of work there. Doesn’t even say he will serve out the school year.

Agree. “Remains” can mean is there until next week or end of school year. What they don’t say is he is there now and will be there next years don’t deny the promotion. And someone here said Overton keeps his security job through end of school year. Wonder if he is even onsite for it given now at STJ and promotions in high gear there- one post says have 100 ready to try out already at $125/kid.

People dumb enough to think Overton is a good coach rather than just a guy riding the talents of adolescents.

The beneficiaries and those who think they benefit from the system of white supremacy usually deny that it exists. That’s part of the code of white supremacy.

Sure. This is why trying to point out the obvious to you idiots is a complete waste of time.

False claims of white supremacy do nothing to help society, especially considering the very real attacks on minority groups in this country today. Shame on you, you’re disgusting and pathetic.

What actions? Attracting talent? Winning championships? Building teams that can play at the highest level? Helping kids become division 1 college athletes?

“Attracting talent”

That’s a fun new euphemism for “rampant cheating”

I don't believe the 100 kid thing.

I am not here to defend or condemn principal Thompson or coach Overton but can we all just take a step back for a moment and pray for racial unity? I mean, some of the coded language used against these young men is inexcusable and the allegations against them remain just that allegations. Do not be so quick to judge especially when power structures remain in place to thwart and frustrate all expressions of Black excellence. What if a so called white coach acted as Mr. Overtime is alleged to have acted. He would probably be given an award. Taking in homeless students and giving them a shot at college ball is not a crime, not even in Virginia. Stereotype threat is real.

That sounds a little racist to me.

This makes me want to hurl.

The kids whose move to Hayfield was orchestrated by Overton, with Thompson's apparent blessing and with Fritts turning a blind eye, took opportunities away from other Hayfield students, many of whom were Black. These students arguably were also exploited by adults, but some knew exactly what was going on.

There are many Black coaches in the region, and when they generally play by the rules and their teams succeed, FCPS bends over backwards to sing their praises. One need only look to the Hayfield basketball program for one such example. FCPS leadership and the School Board extolled that programs much more than they did state championships of other FCPS teams.

Students who are truly homeless need a home, a school, and much more. Encouraging students to declare themselves homeless to exploit regulations on enrollment and eligibility is an entirely different thing.

Sounds to me like we need to start at the top with the firings. And, I mean the top above Hayfield.

To the white supremacists, anything not supporting white supremacy is racist. Things aren’t fair unless they have the advantage.

You're comically ignorant on so many levels. There's been no "coded language used against these young men" in months in this thread and the allegations against them have been proven true. Overton thwarts and frustrate all expressions of Black excellence for his own gain. No one took in a homeless student. Students were told to pretend to be homeless. Sit this one out you ignorant fool. Now call me racist for calling you ignorant.

Are the white supremacists to blame for DO's kid failing out of two colleges?
