Where are you headed this summer?

Anonymous
I'm in need of some time off and and hoping you can share your vacation hot spots this season. I have searched unsuccessfully on TripAdvisor.com for ideas. I'm looking for a nice hotel within a 4-5 hour drive from the DC metro area WITH room service (again I need a weekend off lol) and pool or some body of water where my husband, 8mo and I can lounge, swim and play. I've searched PA, WV, MD, VA, and NC without much luck but I think it simply comes from not being a native of the east coast and totally unfamiliar with all the hot spots.

Please tell me where you're headed and your thoughts on the property as I am in need of some ideas.

TIA!

I'd suggest the Baltimore Waterfront Marriott, we stay there every year for July 4. They have 24 hour room service, great rooms (see if you can get one overlooking the harbor, a corner one if you have the extra money.) They have some packages that will include breakfast, Sunday brunch is excellent. The indoor/outdoor pool area is really nice. Plus you can't beat it's location, right on the harbor with a ton of stuff to do, aquarium, boat rides, shopping, other dining, etc.

The Annapolis Waterfront Marriott probably has a similar setup, although I've never stayed there.

Have you checked out beach locations, Hilton Virginia Beach, Hilton Ocean City, Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels, MD?

Nemacolin resort in PA may fit the bill. I've never been there, but I've heard good things about it. Possibly Homestead resort and/or Greenbriar also?

Love all three of the above places-Homestead is offering three nights for the price of two. Just stayed at the Greenbrier-my fav but it's pricey although they too are offering deals.

I was recommended the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina which is located in Cambridge, MD for a nearby mini-trip to relax. When your DC is older, you can fully take advantage of Camp Hyatt.

We have been to St Michaels and Inn at Perry Cabin is gorgeous.

Hyatt Regency is pure cheese and not the good kind from France. It is also pensive for being so yucky. If you are going to spend the cash-definitely go to Inn at Perry Cabin.

Thank you again.
