The starting lineup for this squad will be competitive with the top teams from LI and Maryland.

How they do in the tourney will likely come down to how much the coaches play the bench.

Yes to Maryland, considering many top MD players are doing AA, but not LI. Capital + a few players will not beat Yellow Jackets best.

Similar girls from the past 2 years and they didn’t win a game at either event. What will be so different this year?

Nothing will be different. The DC VA AS team won't win a game again. As pointed out, the top maryland players are all on the AA team.

Will depend on a couple things

1) Are they put in the top pool?
2) How much does the coach play their bench?

If they are in the top pool, winning a game will be tough most top teams. In the 2nd or 3rd group, they can be very competitive especially if they give a majority of playing time to their starters.

There is another factor. A number of the other regions, notably, LI, Upstate NY, and CT, all practice as a team, staring in the Spring, and are pretty serious about the prep. DC team usually only has 2-3 practices and lots of girls have conflicts.

The bigger issue is that for LA,GA,CT and a couple others 90% of the roster is from the same club team and already knows how to play together so practices are less important.

DC/VA 25's won AS so it can be done.

Not sure why this is relevant for the 28s.

I will be rooting for the girls for sure, but being that they primarily picked Capital girls, who also struggled in the fall, I do not think they will win more than half their games. But I hope I’m wrong and will be rooting for them

I have read on this board that the 28 Capital team has struggled. How are the girls doing in high school? Did Capital make any changes to the roster in the off season? Do we anticipate a better Summer season?

I will take this post as a set of sincere questions, more out of nostalgia for the 2028 board which had a full month without posts, than anything else.

First, it's debatable whether the Fall season is appropriately characterized. A brand new team, coming together, played the second toughest Fall schedule of any club in the country. Couple of very promising games, couple of tough outings. Not far from reasonable expectations. Still need to get the attack untracked a bit, and solidify the structure for D, rides, and clears. That will happen this summer.

From my conversations, the team is doing well in their high school seasons. More than half are playing for top programs in the ISL and WCAC, and a number more for high quality public teams in VA and MD. The majority are starting on Varsity teams, and all are getting good competition in games, practices (top programs in ISL for example), or leading on JV at programs that don't take Freshmen on Varsity. From my perspective, (1) getting some really good coaching at a number of the programs, (2) spending 5-6 days a week with a stick in hand, and playing in a region that is generally more competitive nationally, should all provide benefits going into summer.

I will go ahead and predict a better Summer season, and improvement over the 4 tournaments.

Capital doesnt make roster changes until July tryouts.

Not historically true. They have moved players up and down between Blue and Orange, brought on Star players, as well as filled holes from outside. So generally speaking, they don't, but it is not an absolute.

How many spots are realistically up for grabs on Blue at July tryouts?

If this is an insider and not a troll, respectfully suggest that you not answer that question, even if you think you have some special knowledge. Not appropriate to speculate and it could get back to and have an impact on kids.

To the questioner, no one knows if there is a number, or how large the number might be. Usually some shuffling between 9th and 10th.

Oh, I have no idea. And I don't care. But I do know that they have had movement over the years, even during the year before summer.

The poster asked the question, we want to hear the answer. I am sure everyone already knows, so what 3 positions?
