Our daughter is 4 and still not dry through the night (girls are supposed to do this earlier than boys). I think only 1 or 2 of her classmates are totally dry at night.
As far as strategies, please don't get a bedwetting alarm. That is about the meanest thing on the planet. Your son's body just isn't ready yet. I mean, they're sleeping - it's not as if they have any control over it! The only thing you could do is wake him up around midnight, or before you go to bed, and have him use the toilet. Also, limiting beverages before bed. Our dd doesn't drink anything past 6:30 and still wets at night and she got really mad when we woke her to use the toilet, so we're just waiting for awhile. As is the case with 99% of issues dealing with kids, she'll do it when she's ready and able! |
