It’s also on cable channel 70 for Comcast and 41 for Verizon. I just set my DVR so I can watch later and fast forward as needed.

Nope. Everyone is agreeing with the recommendation (with one exception so far, calling for a pause to the entire process to take into account new enrollment figures and to do a comprehensive boundary shift next year)

She’s a known crazy person.

I don't agree. A number of other commenters have also requested a pause followed by a true comprehensive process. Still a distinct minority overall, though.

I’m watching on delay, but I believe all those I’ve heard asking for delay are associated with Key and just want to delay or stop the move.

What was the Key parent's plan for Reed in Fall 2021 if they delayed the change? I didn't catch that comment - something about distance learning?

I'm not watching, but the 'key plan' for Reed to get a delay is to either 1) assume Reed won't open on time, or 2) suggest they use Reed for a year as a "distance learning' hub - its a little unclear if this is under the assumption that we would still be DL or that some people would want to remain DL, but would like to do so in a congregate setting.

These are good ideas only in their own minds. Everyone else realizes they are living in lala land.

So some kids would go sit on their iPads at Reed for a year?

Something about swing space for DL students who need in person support? It’s nonsense. Can you imagine the public outrage if we let a $55M facility go basically unused for a year when the county will be in the worst budgetary position it’s been in for years? People would go nuts, and rightfully so.

Key’s October enrollment was 696 and capacity with current trailers is 657 at the ATS site. That means if 40 kids don’t move to the new site with the program they fit. The actual number that drop immersion will be higher than that. I’m not sure why they keep acting like the plan is some kind of great mystery.

So how likely is it that the School Board will approve the recommendation as is?

Could they reject it? Modify it?

We are new to this process and not sure how this all works.

Given the inputs I heard from yesterday's hearing, I have the impression that SB will approve the current recommended map with a slight modification of grandfathering policy. I was surprised that none of the south of Wilson Blvd. spoke up at yesterday's meeting to have their PU included within the Key zone. Some of them are literally just 2 streets away, like 5 mins walking distance.
