Op here. He totally asked to be reimbursed. I mean I kinda get it. For bucks is not a huge business expense and it’s good karma to pay him back, right?

OP here, so I told him he’s been declined, and of course he’s asking for his application fee to be reimbursed. I’m tempted to do it because it’s not a big business expense at all 40 bucks and for good karma, right?

Simply take first, last and security deposit AND require his parents to co-sign -- if he defaults, they're 100% responsible.
