What are you talking about? It’s supposed to be a stimulus check not welfare. They should be sending these checks to everyone in the country regardless of income. The stimulus checks shouldn’t have income limits and certainly shouldn’t be limited to $40K. What does what I made in 2018 or 2019 have to do with the economy and circumstances right now?

I know what both of those are, thanks. Someone making $40k isn’t on welfare, not sure what’s so confusing about that for you. The previous stimulus also had a cap on income, and so will this one. They’re simply proposing lowering that cap.

If they really want to stimulate the economy then they should have no cap and I believe we should have a UBI for everyone in the country for the duration.

With the unemployment numbers where they are and parents struggling to pay for childcare - you’d think they’d be raising the cap.

It's practical and efficient. The less people make, the more likely they are to actually spend the money and put it back in the economy.

Yes, the HEROES ACT did indeed pass the House.

Now we are patiently awaiting for the Senate to decide later (hopefully!) this month when they come back.

Now remember the House is Democrat-controlled while the Senate is Republican-controlled.
And many in the Senate do not want to see a second Stimulus payment.

I know, the President IS saying he is all for one, but his words carry no weight.
How many times before has he stated that something will happen and it doesn’t??!
