If you're Christian, are you going to church for Easter?

No. More just terrified, given the packed churches we've all been seeing.

Stop. You wouldn't have added in words like "inexcusable" if you didn't want to diss Christians.

You're not looking good, OP.

Any gathering of people during this time is "inexcusable" no matter who is doing it.

Then why didn’t OP start a thread about Orthodox Jews, something she presumably is less ignorant about?

I am asking you to stop again. You make Catholics look like assholes. The vast majority of us are sensitive to these concerns and if you think your persecution complex is more important than the health, safety and comfort of society then you are alone in that. Please, please stop.

How are you seeing packed churches if you are home??

I had no idea what is happening out there, but I have heard fundamentalist church leaders are having services still.

Catholics are not all the same and they are not like fundamentalists.

I’m not the “are you OP?” poster right above but I am the pp you’re responding to.

I’m Episcopalian. Others posting here have identified themselves as Methodist etc. From what I can tell, there are at least 4-5 people who think OP is out of line.

Of course we all agree that nobody should go to church.

What’s also wrong in these times is for somebody to hate-post based on ignorance. We need to be kinder to each other, not start threads targetting other groups, like this one.

Anonymous wrote:Frankly, this holiday terrifies me, given COVID. I think people going to church is going to just destroy our ability to fight this virus for a long time.

Us Jews will stay home for Passover (all the synagogues I know of have gone to totally virtual services anyway) but I've heard nothing from the Pope. It's inexcusable that he hasn't come out and urged Catholics to stay home and access virtual masses.

I’m not Catholic, but it was easy enough to google this.

Ok, but even beyond that, many state governments in the US haven't mandated that churches close, and Trump basically said today that he thinks mass can be done in person.

This coming from one of the biggest heathens in the face of the earth. Why would any rational, thinking, science believing Christian like me follow anything or believe anything he says?

Read all the stories about this outbreak starting in places of worship...South Korea, France, Italy, etc...just stop. One such story about an evangelical church in France showed that after several thousand gathered then scattered all over the planet spreading it with them. Stop. Pray at home.

[quote=AnonymousSo good on the Catholics.

Now what about the other denominations?
OP the Episcopal Diocese of Washington closed on Wed Mar 12. Events into May have been cancelled. https://www.edow.org/news-events/coronavirus

Many churches have been working for a couple weeks already to prepare music, readings and prayers for online Easter services. Like this: https://www.edow.org/news-events/coronavirus
