I mean, I feel for her, 8 months pregnant is tough, public shaming isn't fun, but wow that was nasty. |
I know! I'm reading this now and can't even believe it. So gross all around. Even the astroturf is nasty |
We have large dog and a large yard. He poops in the yard and he poops on his daily walk, and we clean the yard of poop on the weekend. Oddly, my kids have never actually stepped in it before, but most of the time he goes in one particular spot in our yard. In the summer, when the lawn is mowed weekly on Friday, the poop magically disappears (!) so there is nothing left to pick up. It's kinda gross, but I try not to think about it. |
They obviously had the money to outsource the task. That's what people were angry about. Being pregnant doesn't obviate one from picking up the phone and arranging back-up help. |
Wow, the neighbors are lucky the woman didn't heavily lawyer up about their "public shaming" - a very dangerous approach, on the neighbors' part! |
Yea, there are plenty of services that will come clean your yard for not much money. Especially given how simple a job it would be with the astro/synturf or whatever they called it. Hell, you could probably sweep it up once it, uh, dried up a little. |
That's a bit extreme. In my neighborhood we don't have sidewalks, so where would the dog go? We have a 3/4 acre lot and it doesn't bother me if a dog craps on my front yard. If you're worried about the dog crapping on your grass and you got a good sized yard, you might want to look into having that stick removed from your anus.. |
OP, tell us, are you one of those neighborhood whackos who tries to approach new neighbors to misinform and fear monger? How is that working for you? |
I'm pretty sure the owners are lawyers themselves (or at least the "partner" who works 14 hours per day is an attorney). That said, there's no libel or slander here if the neighbors are telling the truth. Which they did - there's documented evidence of tons of poop and that happens to violate the DC health code. Where's the damages for the negligent home owners? |
There are many issues at play here. |
Such as.....? Enlighten me. I'm trying to understand on what grounds the owners would have for taking legal action against the neighbors or the owner of the PoPville blog. They would get laughed out of court. |
As long as they poop in their own yard, it is not of my business. But if neighbors let their dogs pee on the colorful flowers I've been growing under my mailbox, I'll chase both neighbors and dogs. |
I didn't have pets growing up and was not around dogs very often, yet somehow I always knew that dogs poop in the yard!! It is common sense. How -- and I ask this in the nicest way possible -- can you not have figured that out over the course of your lifetime? |
I live on a corner lot, and I have a fence around it precisely for that reason. I would never be able to do what you did, and while I think the pee-in-a-bottle thing is crazy and stooping to their level, I think the FedExed poop is just what they deserved. Couldn't do it though, because I can't touch dog crap with a ten foot pole. |
