Why don't you try living on a 7-11 diet and sit in front of a television all day because there's no safe place to play outside.

They are just getting heart disease and diabetes because of their parents' options and choices.
But dont worry about it, just drive your SUV to Whole Foods and do your shopping.

FFS the purpose of school is not to feed and babysit kids.

I can assure you DCPS will not have a legal leg to stand on if someone is hurt trying to get to school.

They can't use 'but we gave a caveat about excusing absences' as a legal defense if someone is injured trying to get to school during a snow emergency.

The caveat is proof they knew of the dangers but opted to open anyway.

Maybe a good lawsuit is just what they need.

Your assessment of the legal standard applicable to bringing suit against DCPS is amusing. Perhaps you've heard of the doctrine of sovereign immunity and the limited waiver for tort liability?

Actually, the Mayor is wrong.

That's your opinion, and you can remember that come election time. A lot of parents are thrilled DC opened schools today, and my child's school was fine.

Not real interested in your declaration that your school was "fine" (whatever that means). I want to see the attendance data for each school

I doubt anyone is worried about their snowflake being injured by snow. 3 foot mountains and cars on black ice is more likely the concern.

Next time, either stay away forever or at a bare minimum engage your brain.
