Bowser Snow Fail

Just be thankful you have power, MD residents have PEPCO and we feel very lucky to dodge a situation where tens of thousand of people could be without power for a full week. Happened to us twice for a full week.

I do not think we need to have as much equipment or manpower -- we just need to use what we have more effectively and efficiently.

The response is much different this storm. In 2009 and 2010 our street was plowed within 2 days. This time, no plow. If the response plan has changed that's fine, but the City should communicate this in advance so we could move our cars to a nearby parking garage. Now we'll have to walk a few blocks and take taxi/uber tomorrow morning to get our kids to 2 different schools. Can't wait to see the surge pricing tomorrow morning. Bowsered!

Have not had this much snow fall in one period since 1922. I lived on Capitol Hill during Snowmageddon and it was days before our relatively busy street was plowed. I get that it's frustrating if you're not seeing the results that you want, but the city is actually doing a relatively good job (assisted by the warming weather). City officials have made it clear all along that they are trying to do a good job with the streets they have served, versus touching all streets once. That may not be a strategy that you agree with, but it's not that there is no planning.

By the way, it was communicated well before the storm that you could move your cars to a Metro lot and park for free.

Yeah, my office follows DC gov, so I had to drive into work today. Bowser is a douchebag if she thinks the road conditions today were safe enough for anyone to be on.

No, I didn't. But even main artery roads were only partially plowed. Some only had one open lane - with two opposing lanes of traffic tying to navigate. My office is on a side street that hasn't seen a plow yet. Maybe make sure that at least the main roads are all clear before asking your workers to come in.

Not to mention that DC schools were closed - so what were all the worker bees supposed to do with their kids?

My block (Quintana Pl NW) has not seen a plow, while I've seen many pass by on 5th street NW.

I don't understand there deployment rationale.

Did not expect garbage pickup this week. Did not expect a plow on Sunday morning. Did not expect a plow Monday morning. I DID expect a plow on Tuesday morning. I think that is far from unreasonable and entitled.

Agree -- this is ridiculous. There has not been ONE plow down my street yet, while neighboring streets have been plowed multiple times. This is the worst snow response I've seen since I moved here nearly 20 years ago.

My street was plowed more quickly than in past storms, but if you look at the snow map, some streets really don't look like they were cleaned. My thought is that they are either too narrow or too steep for the plow driver to navigate

+1. They did a good job with the main roads, but everything else has been a disaster. Amazing that NYC was able not to cancel a single school day!

Just saw a video of an ambulance that got stuck on an unplowed street. But whatever, totally safe.
