Lots that have already been mentioned! Another I'll add is Hearts and Bones by Paul Simon. And Graceland.

Oh, and too many by Dar Williams to name.

Pretty much everything I listen to evokes some sort of emotional response. It's primarily the music itself, though there are some songs where the lyrics do it for me.

Songs that make me stop what I'm doing to feel the music:

Passenger by The Deftones
She Talk To Angels by The Black Crows
Full Sesh by Against Me!
9 Crimes by Damien Rice
The Widow by The Mars Volta
Lucky by Seven Mary Three
What Is It About Men by Amy Winehouse

..to name a few.

The lesbians must be posting today!

Cat's in the Cradle. I cry every.single.time I hear that song and then feel like a shitty mom for the times I've dissed my kid ("can't right now...") to go do something else.

Straight DH Indigo fan here. Yes, when the question is what music is about passion and emotion, the lesbian singer/songwriters are going to be well represented.
(They have their own playlist on my iPod. )
We haven't even gotten into kd lang yet. Her live version of Roy Orbison's "Crying" is a world-stopper.

I've been crying about "Cat's in the Cradle" since the first time I heard it when I was about 8. (I was a sensitive child.)
There was also a song about some kind of whizzing, buzzing toy that also made me cry.

Both are awesome!! KD Lang is under-rated for sure!
