I did the same to the collard greens. Threw them out. Will not add any salt next time since the smoked ham hocks already have plenty. Adding green cardamom pods to the glazed bourbon sweet potatoes was great and extra delish. |

Managed to have a T-Day feast that satisfied traditionalists, vegans, gluten-free, and nut-free (I'm one of the traditionalists)
Organization by google spreadsheet was a fail: a majority of people just brought whatever, but we had more than enough of everything. Lesson learned: as long as someone makes the turkey and everyone else brings lots of the food that is a must-have for them, it will work out. I think I just don't like pie. We had 8 pies and I didn't really like any of them (didn't even bother with the gluten free pies). |
Pie has a lot of crust and extra calories for modern palate. |
I agree but I love baked fruit which is why I always do a crisp-especially apple cranberry. |
