Yes...but in the 80s are track suits/sweats were baggy heavy cotton with that elastic at the ankle ![]() ![]() |
Nice thighs! Love the off-shoulder look. |
I don't think yoga pants, in and of themselves, are a problem. Don't wear them at a nice eating establishment, please, but as long as all the bits and pieces are covered or at least not highlighted I seldom notice them. HOWEVER- last week there was a mom picking up her child at an Arlington Montessori school wearing skin tight gray yoga/workout pants and a tight little top. She has a nice body and is proud of it. But she may as well have been wearing flashing neon suspenders pointing at her crotch. Half a block away you could see that crotch approaching. No one is looking at your awesome abs when you are offering up your lady bits like a "parental guidance suggested" anatomy lesson, scaring gay men everywhere. Please, Arlington Montessori mom, switch out the pants or wear a longer shirt. |
Laziness. Same reason I wear jeans everyday. Aside from the few who are really mixing up their outfits, most of us are probably not in a position to feel superior! |
if you wear yoga pants for comfort, why the hell would you wear a thong??? |
Maybe she wears skin tight because that's what feels best to her. Maybe she wants to look sexy for men. Either case, what a woman wears is her choice, as long as what she is wearing is not blatantly lewd indecent exposure. A case of "camel toe" is not indecent exposure because the crotch is covered, and it is not lewd because the form of the female body is not lewd. |
I had my second baby 6 months ago and still cannot fit into my old pants/jeans. I did break down and buy another pair of jeans, but I only have one pair and with a reflux an issue, I can only wear them once before cleaning again. I hate it, but all my pre-pregnancy yoga pants fit so I wear them when the jeans are in the laundry. I can't wait for spring/summer so I can wear my skirts! |
I wouldn't consider a meal at Lost Dog "out to dinner." It's a small step above McDonalds. But come on over to Country Club Hills - tennis dress season is right around the corner. |
CC Hills resident here. She speaks the truth, holy hell. I couldn't believe it last Spring. |
So bikinis are ok at CitiZen? Awesome! |
You need to spend some time reading this site and not hating yourself: http://largelabiaproject.tumblr.com/ |

It has nothing to do with hating the female body, idiot. It's about common decency. The same goes for the outline of male genetalia in spandex, in public. Is there a large dick project we should check out, too? |
Yoga pants are soft and comfy and don't cut into your midsection like jeans do. I can wear a long top over it and go almost anywear during the day. I don't buy clingy ones, they are cut a lot like boot cut jeans. The capri style/legging style ones I reserve for actual workouts. Most women I see, even older and portly ones, look pretty good in yoga pants.
The unfortunate trend I am seeing in DC is loud leggings and fold down shearling trimmed boots. |
I wear lululemon and athleta with longer tunics and flats. I look better in this outfit than jeans and a sweater, IMO.
And I go to yoga 4-5 times a week and work from home part time. |
