How much is in your 529 and how old is your DC?

There have been some high amounts in some of these posted accounts.

At what $$ value do you plan to stop making investments? (ie., How much is enough money?)

Much less. The growth rate is unsustainable. There will be not enough students who could afford to go

I have rental properties I will unload for college. I believe the way to wealth and financial security is for othwr people to pay odf my real eatate investments.

So do I. I hope to one day be in your position.

I have a friend who planned to do this then the market went to hell and he couldn't unload the properties. His kids all ended up taking out massive loans. Real estate isn't the sure thing it used to be.

we are planning to move to VA from MD in a yr or two, is in our best interest to wait to signup, or is that irrelevant? Thanks.

Kids are 12 and 10, and we have about $60K for each of them.

3 yo has 85k; 7 month old has 40k. Both started out at 50k at birth.

Heh, I put in 75K for my daughter when she was 3, and it's now worth 80k as a 9 year old.

About $80K each; kids are 7 and 9.

A little over 13K. DS is 10. It's what I can do (no help).

for those of us that are normal middle class families with two or more kids, what is REALISTIC to try to contribute each year? $3K/year per kid?
