| I provided supplemental math for my kid. I did this not because I was aiming at magnet program. I thought school curriculum too slow and easy + COVID virtual school was terrible. Only in grade 7 I realized that he has a chance with Blair. |

Global Ecology We are excited to inform you that you have been accepted for admission into the Global Ecology magnet program at Poolesville High School, class of 2030. A review committee comprised of central office and Poolesville staff based its decision on the strength of your application and submitted test scores. Please join us at PHS on Wednesday February 4, 2026, at 6:00 PM, for Poolesville High School’s Invited Student Night welcoming students and parents to the Global Ecology House. When you arrive at the school, park in the South lot off of Willard Road. Overflow parking is available at the church across the street. All families should enter the building through the South lot entrance, under the sign "Home of the Falcons." When you arrive, you will receive a personalized schedule for the evening that will provide a deeper look into the programs at PHS to which you have been invited, as well as an information session about more general student experiences at PHS. |

| Today was supposed to be open house at BLAIR. Has anyone received any updates? I would assume they canceled it due to MCPS being closed? |

I am hoping it happens. On Insta, MCPS said that the facilities are ready, but the roads are not clear for the busses. Well, no one is taking a bus to the info session. |

The email from MCPS says all events are can canceled. CODE ORANGE - SCHOOLS CLOSED AND OFFICES OPEN On Time for Monday February 2. All schools are closed School offices and central offices are open on time Emergency personnel report as directed MCPS sponsored school and community activities are canceled including athletic practices and events Childcare programs may operate as scheduled, families are encouraged to contact their childcare provider |
