They got rid of Biden but gave us Trump who's even more f'ed up than Biden. Threw the baby out with the bathwater. The voters were legitimately unhappy but they also made a stupid choice.

I'm so tired of hearing about Biden....on his worst day he was better than trump.

This and this post is a troll post.

Doesn't everyone swing by DCUM to check the troll barometer? This isn't new.

First, MAGA needs to be defeated, then the Democratic Party needs to be split, because there is a deep chasm between the progressive and moderate ends of the party. They think they are speaking the same language, but they are not. May as well split after MAGA is gone. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

You are right that there is a gulf, but this is always the case with a big tent party. I don''t think we need to split. Voters have shown that if you put the right deocrat in for the specific district, Democrats win even though the party has lost its shine. So someone like Mamdani wins NYC, but a former CIA officer wins Virginia. Even though Dem approval ratings are at a an all time low...

The right Democrat for the right place, offer more, not less, bring more people in, not fewer. That is the strategy, IMO

I agree. It's not like the entire party has been on the exact same page on every issue since the beginning of time. That's not how democracy works. Democracy works by building coalitions on issue of joint agreement and compromising on differences. I think our civics education has been lacking in much of the country lately because it seems like a lot of people don't get this any more. In the last few elections so much time was wasted because people had to be taught (as if for the first time) that you don't have to agree with 100% of a candidate's ideas to vote for them.

The party’s factions are not going in the same direction, more like perpendicular to each other. Split after MAGA is done and let the people decide what brand of liberal they want. Right now, we have a Frankenstein party, with gobble-de-gook messaging.

Exponentially better than Trump.

But it was 82 year old Joe Biden’s decision to run for reelection that set this entire disaster into motion. So no, Biden and the Democratic establishment do not get a free pass.

Party registration is falling off a cliff for both parties while the number of people registering as Independent is rising quickly. There’s obviously a huge hunger to move beyond these two completely useless zombie parties. But there are nearly insurmountable hurdles to get a third party going in the US system.

No doubt bots and trolls and foreign governments are using the algorithms to promote instability. But there are a lot of very pissed Americans looking for alternatives regardless.

Yes, but most of us are in the center. The far left is following the MAGA playbook—trying to use discontent to generate support for (and normalize) extremist positions.

If you think about it, progressives are basically a bunch of losers controlled by a small number of liberal elites who exist in insulated bubbles, far removed from ordinary American people.

Securing our international border is an “extremist position” ??? How so?

Wrong again. It should read like this:

“If you think about it, hyper partisans on the left and right are basically a bunch of losers controlled by a small number of ultrawealthy elites who exist in insulated bubbles, far removed from ordinary American people.”

PP here. I can get behind that.

Their criticisms of the U.S. frequently align with mine, but it's like in recent months I've felt a sense of cynicism of them toward America and the Democratic party that makes me feel uncomfortable. I think it's because we're seeing the Trump administration at peak power, deporting innocent immigrants and using their might to chill free speech. These criticisms toward centrist Dems, that they're no better than Republicans, feel so quaint.

That they can still treat both parties with the same type of ire at this moment in time feels delusional and offensive. One party is obviously worse than the other, and recent events should've crystallized that for them. Maybe they're just callous people, but I'm actually beginning to think many of them aren't even Americans.

Do you agree? Should this have been an obvious realization years ago?

Why are you only now getting paranoid? They are and have been around, havent they??

Ricco also noted that Trump couldn’t just pay the dividends on his own. They would require legislation from Congress.

Maga dumb and dumber

I hadn't seen the math on this, but no surprise that math ain't mathin with MAGA.
