I want to point out extremely few the famous alumni from Big 5 are scientists. Even if there are, they are science communicators. There you will they are mostly from the STEM magnet schools and public schools or recent immigrants educated outside US. |
What does that have to do with Warren Buffett? |
Also worth pointing out that society doesn't really consider even the most accomplished scientists to be "famous" unless they're entertainers along with their science. Who are your top five favorite biologists? How about paleontologists? |

Yes the last one. What does it reflect the school? |
It’s DC culture. DC culture separates those in the know from those who aren’t with unspoken expectations. https://washingtonian.com/2018/04/01/first-lady-of-the-treasury-is-dc-being-too-mean-to-louise-linton/ |
But you are not really apart of DC culture. You read articles about those who are. |
Your post fits well with the DC culture. |
That reflects the value shared in the society, that Nobel prize winners are much less than known than an actress or ceo of some company. Because if a school educate cohort of scientists and academics it shows the quality of education. Why do people have to care if some celebrities like Baron Trump or some kids from rich people attend a school? Unless they themselves did something amazing later on? What does it say about the school s educatio ’? For me it is negative. |
