Can you be more specific? What kinds of questions?

Yes, please be more specific

Actually, never mind. My guess is this is a GDS parent who doesn’t want Chicago woman to be chosen.

I hope that they go with the fourth/final candidate. He has a very similar profile to Russell's when he was first hired 16 years ago. He was thoughtful and actually answered questions centering students, staff, and pedagogy in his responses. My understanding is that faculty and staff liked him the best also. West Coast candidate didn't answer any questions and certainly does not seem to have a commitment to stay long term anywhere. Lab School candidate was very polished and appealed to the portion of the GDS community who especially admired her Exeter, Harvard, Harvard degrees over a commitment or understanding of progressive education. I have heard some rumblings about real disagreements with the Board and leadership that led to her ouster at Lab. I think she'd be fine, but I don't think she will be a cultural fit for the school. First candidate was absolutely the weakest.

I liked him too. Two of the candidates skipped around too much for my tastes, suggesting they would leve GDS when something better came along.

It’s such a different, more complex school than it was when R was hired, though.
