This is correct.

Not to mention, the school has 97% student retention (and a very eager waitlist).

This is simply untrue. The 9th grade class is very small this year and people left for a reason.

And the reason is ….

The HOS sent an email about it this summer. It's been discussed on this board before but I believe that the posts have been deleted.

I always wonder about this. Is this due to the students/education really being strong or there are lots of legacy kids? If a school only admits kids whose parents went to ivies, there is no doubt there will be more ivy admissions, no?

This is the case at most schools- ivies and top colleges are populated with kids with hooks. Legacies, athletes, musicians, actors, etc.

But that email was strange since no specific antisemitic incident was mentioned.

I agree that the email was strange because it didn't explain the background but the AJC executive summary was pretty damning and there have been multiple incidents.

so true. Good luck to the nerds trying to get it. They will admit football players regardless of anything

What I liked about Maret was that when my son applied (High school), we as parents were not interviewed. He stood on his own. We were just average white collars with zero connection, zero power and zero family wealth. We felt we were judged by some other schools since we could not boot his case at all.

Where is this narrative coming from? Maret is a meh football school who have a small handful of transfers. Getting a couple of players is hardly running admissions.

Do you know any concrete examples? Why so much secrecy? In principle you could mention the incident without mentioning names ?

Is the AJC summary online? I wasn’t able to find it.
