Small 3rd row SUV you like?

Come back with a comparison of the 3rd row space!

My wife bought a 2023 GMC Acadia recently used as she felt perfect size. The new 2024-2025 Acadia and Traverse are too huge. Also a lot of foreign third rows are too small.

She also liked the Volkswagon Atlas as a good third row. She wanted small enough so not a boat but big enough to have a useable third row for an adult.

I loved my Mazda CX9 and just replaced it with a CX90. No mechanical problems even eith plenty of miles on it. Also best crash test ratings of the smaller 3rd row SUVs.

I also want to get a car that's a bit more fun for my teenagers to ride in. Considering the Lexus TX, Volvo XC90, or a Land Rover Discovery which is my dream car even though it's not practical and very small with the 3rd row up. Any ideas?

Ha ha! This was us. We've been doing this on and off for over 10 years now (Our Honda minivan is 20 years old). Every "find a replacement for the Odyssey" project ends with us deciding that what we have is the best combo of interior space and exterior size, and just continue holding it. Kids are now out of the house and we are now considering a smaller 3-row (the third row would for a just in case use) or a compact suv like a CRV or Rav4.

They won't do anything for you other than sell you expensive temporary fixes until it needs replacing and then you hope that happens while under warranty. Never again for us.

I mentioned Sorento and we have a hybrid. Do you have a combustible engine? I've heard those aren't great but the hybrids and PHEVs are much better.

We got a grand highlander for frequent school carpool and our own 5 member family. So far third row is good, much better than the Highlander - which we also have and grew out of.

That is understandable! We took the plunge and got a Lexus TX. Very similar to the Grand Highlander. I found those to be most compatible with the minivan.
