| Burner email and a google voice line. C'mon, rookie. You can't claim you have 4 kids and haven't figured this out. This is noob shit. |
This is one issue is parents complain but then completely check out so teachers assume all parents are checked out and uninterested. |
New familes need to know how to set up the accounts and how it works. However, they could have consolidated the messages and done less. We have yet to hear from one school. |
|
MCPS wastes money and is redundant in their communication to the point that they need to put out an article explaining why they have so many!

Because you miss the important stuff in the sea of garbage announcements, PR pieces and pointless surveys. I’m the kind of parent that started out super committed to reading all the information but they’ve really killed that enthusiasm in me. At this point, I figure if it’s really important I’ll hear about it from the school directly. I’ve never one seen anything important in any of the McPS communications. |

I only read stuff “signed” by someone at the school- principal, AP, counselor, teacher, coach, PTA president forwarding what she thinks shouldn’t be missed. It’s worked out pretty well so far. |
I am not paying for an extra voice line just to avoid McPS. Giving them a burner email is a good idea |

| OP here. MCPS just texted me at 6:36 and 6:38 am the exact same message they texted me at 1:05 pm yesterday. I only have two kids. Enough is enough. I already hate my phone. I'm blocking them. |
You have two kids so two text. At that hour it’s absurd but that’s MCPS. |
Yes, because I have kids at two different schools so for nearly every communication I get two via parent square, email, text, and sometimes two calls as well. Has technology not advanced so they can at least send out only one message per family? |
My kids are at the same school but I still get two different texts for each h of them. And then usually also one for the school they used to attend. For an automated platform it is not well automated. |
| You can go in to ParentSquare and edit your notification settings. For general messages via both email and text, you can choose Off, Instant, or Digest, for messages from your school, and separately for messages from MCPS. And you can leave school alerts on. |
