Every college should disclose the sat score, the gpa, and the race information for each individual in the:
Applicants
Admitted students
Enrolled students

All we want is transparency. With those data, we can look at it ourselves.

For test optional school, you can also see an individual as a submitter or a non-submitter. So, there are tons of information there you can correlate to, it's not entirely meaningless.

You’re really going to go through 30,000+ lines of data if Emory released it individually?

Not me.
Rest for sure too many DCUM moms would love to. I guarantee you at least one post per school once the data is out. Daily.

What school does your kid go to? Either way GPA is meaningless in today's America. Being in the Top 10% just means who cheated more with AI. GPA avgs have risen as test scores have dropped. Whether this is admitted or Enrolled its impressive nonetheless as enrolled stats dont drop much at most schools. The schools 25th is higher than Every school in the south's median thats not Duke, Vandy, or Rice. Its very much those 4 schools and then the others.

But Emory admits a large percent of the class test optional, so how are the listed scores even relevant? They are artificially elevated.why do people not understand this?

Emory has fewer TO students than Vandy. What are you talking about? And they increased the number of test submitters this year by a ton.

Do you have link for this? I don't believe they have released the number of students that were admitted this past cycle that were test optional yet (if so, please link) But, these are the numbers for the previous year.

From Emory 2024-2025 CDS
Total first time, first year admitted and enrolled 1,438
Of those who actually enrolled and submitted test scores:

Submitting SAT Scores 623
Submitting ACT Scores 286 = 909 Total

So, 529 students out of a class of 1,438 were admitted without submitting scores. That's 37% of the entire admitted class that did not submit test scores.

Did Emory reject you?

There are a few crazy Emory parents here that are always trying to inflate the Emory stats. God knows why it has a perfectly respectable ranking, but for all the recent years for which it has released data, it has taken a solid percentage of the class test optional. Far more than say, UVA.

lol that’s not the freshman profile for Emory. That’s the profile for admitted applicants. The actual profile will be lower because the applicants with the higher numbers will get into somewhere better and enroll there.

Agree with this. But since we're on the topic, how is it that 43% of the Oxford admitted kids are Asian American? Not that many APAs want to go to small rural towns in Georgia... is this a safety school for APA kids gunning for more elite schools? FWIW, I am an Asian American mom.

They applied to both campuses and only got into Oxford. How is this hard to figure out?

PP. Thank you - this makes sense. It would be interesting to see the yield for these students.

Yes it is, freshman profiles are for admitted students, CDS is for enrolled students. Also, Emorys stats do not change much from admitted to enrolled.

Wrong. A freshman profile is enrolled students, weirdo.

Weirdo? What are you 14? And yes Freshman profiles indicate admitted students. You can use other schools like Tufts or UGA to see for yourself. Also again SAT wont drop more than 30 points for enrolled.

JHU uses enrolled:

The profile for JHU is incredible!! Average GPA 3.95!! I assume this is unweighted out of 4.0 scale!! Sad that my kid with wgpa of 4.76 will not meet the mark given that the uwgpa is just 3.86 ...

with about 60% turning down emory from yield, it’s likely the reverse. Why isnt Emory test optional required like many other actual top privates starting next year?

DP. GPA is not a standardized metric. Many selective colleges recalculate GPA their own way. The reported data is not particularly helpful.

What about Princeton, Duke, Willams, and Amherst (for example)? Don’t you status obsessed psychos love these schools? They are still TO. Waiting for someone to chime in to say Amherst is mid because it’s too woke or whatever.

Thats not how that works they're using highest submitted score. Thus aren't double counting

Inflating stats the school posted? You need perspective, Emorys test scores are Top 30 in the nation, thats including LACs. Legit 99th percentile school. I know that makes you bitter.

If you want proof other than word of mouth then you have to wait for the CDS. Schhol GC told after release day that admissions sent a memo stating 84% submitted test scores. Thats 20% higher than the memo they sent out the year before.

Their DC must go to a public for them to care about GPA so much.
